About fullpdftools

fullpdftools is a collection of free tools for everyday document jobs: merging and splitting PDFs, compressing them for email, rotating and cleaning up pages, adding page numbers and watermarks, and converting between PDF, Word and images.

Why we built it

Most online PDF tools ask you to upload your documents to a server you know nothing about. Contracts, invoices, ID scans and school records are exactly the files people need to edit, and exactly the ones they should be careful with. We built fullpdftools so that the work happens on your own device: the tool code downloads to your browser, and your files never leave it.

How it works

When you choose a tool and add a file, your browser reads it into memory and processes it with open-source JavaScript libraries — pdf-lib to build and edit PDFs, PDF.js to read and render them, JSZip to package results, and Mammoth to read Word documents. Nothing is sent to us. That also makes the tools fast, because there is no upload or download wait.

Honest limits

Working in the browser has trade-offs, and we’d rather tell you than surprise you. Conversions between Word and PDF are approximations — they preserve text, headings, lists, tables and images well, but complex layouts are simplified. Password-protected PDFs and scanned documents (which need OCR) are not supported yet. Each tool’s page explains what it does and doesn’t do.

How the site is funded

fullpdftools is free to use. To cover hosting and development we may show advertising from Google AdSense. Ads never get access to your files, and our Privacy Policy explains the choices you have.
